Ian Callender has led the creative, cultural arts scene in Washington, DC for over 15 years highlighting his love and hobby of collecting sneakers to his desire to improve neighborhoods across the city, building communities from the ground up through his dynamic cultural lens. He is the owner of Suite Nation, a CBE certified event design firm; the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Culture House (formerly Blind Whino SW Arts Club), which has gained notoriety throughout the city because of its contributions to the arts and culture creative economy; he sits on the board of a new non-profit arts concept called the Nicholson Project, an Artist Residency and Urban Farm located in Ward 7 in Southeast DC, and he co-owns the newly relocated Sandlot Southeast in Capitol Riverfront, an indoor & outdoor cultural arts event space adjacent to Nationals Park.

Callender has over a dozen years of experience in event production to later launching creative non-traditional spaces in partnership with real estate developers and landlords along with corporate brands and strategic partners. He has been successful in reclaiming vacant and dilapidated spaces with the intent of beautifying them for the benefit of the community. Callender leads a team of ten including his star Creative Director Fernando Castro who facilitates all visuals and has lead this department for over 10 years.
